The Three #3
Kristen Ashley

Abel Jin and Delilah Johnson have lived their lives with a hole in their soul, yearning for something they don’t understand.

Until one night Delilah is in mortal danger and a man who’s otherworldly strong and supernaturally fast saves her. Delilah is then cast into a world where fiction comes to life in the form of Abel, her destined mate, a vampire/werewolf hybrid who claims her at first breath as his.

But Abel knows the danger isn’t done. He’s dreamed for centuries that his mate will perish and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe.

For Delilah, she’s not only coping with fantasy come to life, but a mingling of very different families. Not to mention, she has on her hands a man who doesn’t understand his true nature and has lived his long life thinking he’s a monster.

Abel and Delilah together fills the hole that has been clawing at them for decades. But finally finding each other, it also tips their destinies as the last of The Three. They must unite with the other destined lovers, who with Abel and Delilah, are fated to save the world.

Or die trying.

“I’ve waited three lifetimes for you, and now that I’ve got you, I’m keepin’ you.”

I am really bummed writing this review. I wanted to love this book sooooo much! I just didn’t feel it. This trilogy had an awesome storyline but this last installment kind of fizzled out. A lot of people loved this one, so it may have just been me, but I am bumming hard.

Abel and Delilah were OK. I say this because I really loved everyone in this series leading up to this book. I just felt really rushed into them and it was like I was just expected to love them. I would have liked some more character development in place of some of the sex. But the story was lost in a sea of OTT sex in this book. I have no problem with the steam factor, but not when the plot suffers. I actually got a bit bored reading about all of their romps, or as Abel called it, “rutting”.

I loved Delilah’s relationship with her dad. But I really didn’t understand why bikers were brought into this story. It was too much. It was like KA missed SOA so badly that she had to feel it’s presence again. For that matter, it bugged me that the original plot took a True Blood turn. The thing is Kristen Ashley is a fantastic storyteller. She didn’t need all the superfluous additions to write a great book. In fact, she has proved that time and again.
All and all, the ending was good and the HEA was great. I got bored and lost several times because the story drifted off into strange places, but I still love KA and will always read her books. #DyingtoreadSoaring

The Three Series

The Three Series is a trilogy which follow the three couples, mixtures of immortal and mortal, prophesied to save humanity. We start with a vampire and a human. We move onto werewolves. And after that… surprise!

The ‘Burg Series

Based in my hometown of Brownsburg, Indiana, The ‘Burg Series will be six books following the interweaving tales of friends, family, love and crime in a small town.

Rock Chick Series

Based in Denver, the Rock Chick Series is eight books that take you on the wild ride of the courtships of the Rock Chicks and the Hot Bunch.

The Mystery Man Series

The Colorado Mountain Series

The Colorado Mountain Series takes place in two fictional Colorado towns situated close to each other, Gnaw Bone and Carnal. This series that will be eight novels follows the stories of eight connected men on their rocky road to second chances.

The series follows the stories of Holden “Max” Maxwell, Tatum “Tate” Jackson, Tyrell “Ty” Walker, Chace Keaton, Graham Reece, Deke Hightower, Jacob Decker and Coal “Wood” Blackwood.

The Unfinished Hero Series

The Unfinished Hero Series is very new (first book published in April 2012) and as yet, I have not quite decided how many books will make up this series. At the very least, it will be three. Perhaps five. However, these stories will be interweaving.

They are also not my usual steamy romances, they are erotic romances. Not erotica, as such, but the sex in these books, starting with Knight is quite explicit and explores the intricacies of love and trust in a relationship including sexually. As the tales unfold, I don’t know how this will continue. However, as it stands in my head, this series will continue to explore these themes however they come about for my characters.

That said, these are love stories. It isn’t about sex, it is about happily ever after. As always.

And last, one final warning, the heroes of these books are anti-heroes. They are good men who do bad things. They have their reasons. They have their own codes. They may seek (and find) redemption. Or they may not. They simply are who they are, do what they do and find love along the way.

Chaos Series

Follows the Dream Man series

The Fantasyland Series is a series of five novels that take place in our world and a parallel universe where fantasies are true… but perhaps not all you would expect.
