#1 New York Times bestselling author S.C. Stephens brings us the next book in her Thoughtless series!

The spotlight doesn't only shine. Sometimes it burns.

Being the bad-boy bassist for the world's hottest band has earned Griffin Hancock some perks: a big house, a fast car, and most importantly his incredible wife, Anna. The one thing it hasn't brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.

Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he's caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos. One that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he's seen an ache in her eyes--and it has his soul in knots. Just as the recognition Griffin seeks is finally within reach, the thing he loves most in life could be slipping through his fingers...

“You’re a star too, babe. The brightest in my sky.”

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. I loved the Thoughtless series, I loved Kellan Kyle, and I loved the other books I have read by this author.

Let me just make this clear, Griffin Hancock is no Kellan Kyle. He’s not supposed to be. In fact he’s almost the exact opposite of everything that Kellan is. I never liked him. The author did not try to twist our vision of what Griffin was in the previous books.  He is arrogant and obnoxious, which is exactly my vision of him. His arrogance is ultimately his demise, despite those who love him trying to make him see the error of his ways. Being in his head was almost overwhelming at times as he was just such a royal pompous asshole. Again all things that I expected from him. What I was not expecting was for him to be such a good father.

These were the moments I found really touching. There were also times I wanted to shake him and scream “When, when will you change?!”, but Griffin needed to come to some hard realizations in his own time. I did really appreciate that it was not just one Aha! moment that made him see the light, it was a gradual process. His life really had to hit rock bottom in every sense for him to realize he had the world by the balls and he blew it. Slowly we see Griffin transform and we can start to love him. Maybe not ever as much as Kellan, but he’s a close second. The one thing that trumped his ego was his daughters. Some of the sweetest moments in the book are between him and his oldest daughter Gibson.

I also loved Anna. She is strong and she does not put up with Griffin’s shit. She does let a lot of things slide, but when it comes to the important things, she is not afraid to put him in his place. Their relationship had a ton of great moments that felt authentic. It was also great to see Kellan and Kiera and the rest of the guys.

So, even though I found Griffin to be exhausting at times, overall I found this quite enjoyable and a great addition to the Thoughtless series.

4 stars and a bottle of whiskey! Enjoy!
