Note to Self

Love is patient; love is kind.
Love doesn't boast or brag.
There's no arrogance in love;
it's never rude, crude, or indecent-it's not self absorbed.
Love isn't easily upset.
Love doesn't tally wrongs.
Love trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.
Love will never become obsolete.
I'll fight for her.

Caleb Drake never got over his first love. Not when he got married. Not when she got married. When life suddenly comes full circle Caleb must decide how how far he is willing to go to get the aloof and alluring Olivia Kaspen back. But for every action in life there is a consequence, and soon Caleb finds out that sometimes love comes at an unbearably high price.

“She’s mine. She always has been, she always will be”

It only took 5 days for me to read the entire Love Me with Lies series by Tarryn Fisher. This story is intense from beginning to end. There are definitely three sides to this story. Olivia’s, Leah’s, and in Thief we finally get Caleb’s side. This was by far my favorite book in the series. I desperately needed to know Caleb’s version of events. So much of everything that had gone wrong seemed to be Olivia and Leah’s fault. What really happened on Caleb’s end? Why did he do the things that he did? What was his motivation, who did he really want to spend the rest of his life with?

“Most men like danger. There is nothing sweeter than a dangerous woman.”

We eventually get an answer to all of these questions and more. I felt so much anxiety reading this book. I knew definitively what I wanted the outcome to be for Caleb. But things were so complicated, could any amount of explanation or time be enough to make things right between Olivia and Caleb? Ms. Fishers style of jumping between the past with the present is one of the things I loved most about this series (besides Caleb of course) The present is evolving as it is now Caleb’s present and his reality. I loved him from the beginning of this series, but now being in his head, hearing his side, I loved him even more. He is far from perfect. He owns his role in all of the bad things that have happened. This only makes him more endearing. His love for Olivia is so pure, so raw, so unwavering, no matter what he has done or how much time has passed, he has always loved her. We also get a few chapters from Olivia and Leah’s POV. This only serves to further enhance the story.

I will not spoil the ending. There is no possible way anyone could predict the final outcome of this story. I always get a little nervous when reading the final book in a series. One, because I know that it is ending and I will have a terrible book hangover, and two because I hope it ends the way I want it to. I was not disappointed in any way. No, things do not turn out perfect, but things have never been perfect for Caleb and Olivia since the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this series and can’t wait to read more of Ms. Fisher’s work.

5 stars and 1 expensive bottle of tequila to help with the anxiety you will feel when reading this! Enjoy!
