Graham Russell and I weren’t made for one another.

I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.

Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other’s secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.

Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.

Graham Russell wasn’t a man who knew how to love, and I wasn’t a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I’d fall with him forever.

Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.

As much as I was dying to read this book, I was also terrified to read it at the same time. Every time I have read a book in this series, my heart has been shredded and left on the floor. This book was no different. It was raw and brutal. I honestly had no idea what the story was about. The only thing that I needed to know was that it was a Brittainy Cherry book. I knew that I would fall in love, have my heart broken and then wonderfully put back together again. Lucy is one of my favorite characters that I have recently read. She is so positive and upbeat, even though her life has been far from perfect. She simply refuses to let life or anyone bring her down. She is the true definition of a free spirit. She feels everything profoundly and deeply, but she is not afraid of having so many feelings. Graham is the exact opposite of Lucy. He is cold and callous and pretty much refuses to have any feelings at all about anything.I was really intrigued as to how things would possibly work out between them. Getting his back story absolutely gutted me, but seeing him start to let his walls down and slowly change his perspective on things was really beautiful.  I won’t go further into plot detail, but this book had more than one shocking revelation. My jaw was literally hanging on the floor. The writing is so exceptional that you feel every emotion right along with the characters. Every laugh, every hurt, you truly feel it. I am sad that this series is over but I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next. 10 stars and a bottle of red wine! Enjoy!
