There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone and I were complete opposites. I danced, and he stood still. He was quiet, while I ran my mouth. He struggled to find a smile, and I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn't look away.

We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision--a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

Sometimes it doesn’t take you too long into reading a story to know that it’s going to destroy you. I was probably about 30 pages in when I said to myself, well shit, this is gonna break my heart. Logans story is so incredibly sad, there’s no way it can’t make your heart ache. The authors writing is so beautiful it is impossible not be completely sucked in. My heart broke not only for him but also for Alyssa. The things this couple endure together are enough to break anyone. It is not only a friends to lovers story, it also a second chance romance. Two amazing story elements alone, but the way Cherry combines them is absolutely brilliant. As much tragedy as there is in this story, it is also a story of an incredible amount of hope. Neither of them ever gives up hope on the other no matter how bad things get. Brittainy is definitely at the top of my go-to author list. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. 5 achingly beautiful stars and a shot of bourbon! Enjoy!
