What is the true cost of security?
Amid a wave of unprecedented terrorist attacks on American soil, a panicked and inexperienced president declares a state of emergency and hands over control of the country to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The quiet and unassuming Administrator Hall soon becomes the most powerful man in America. Determined to stop the attacks, Hall enforces his order across the US, using a newly empowered State Guard to deal with anyone who gets in his way.
As totalitarianism descends across the country, battle-weary reporter Jack Emery is faced with a terrifying new reality when friends, colleagues, and sources are imprisoned before his eyes. Among weekly terrorist attacks, FEMA atrocities, and the clamp tightening on every element of society, Jack becomes one of the few struggling to stop the madness.
This time though, he's on the wrong side of the law and fighting the very government he's trying to save.

The thing about Vincent’s stories is that they are dangerously realistic. It gives me chills just to think about. Face-paced and packed with excitement, State of Emergency is a fabulous addition to the Jack Emery series.

Be sure you have your favorite drink nearby and prepare to be completely drawn into Jack’s world. From the adventures in The Foundation and Fireplay to State of Emergency, Vincent has not let up on the thrills and danger. This book brings the terrifying idea of terrorist attacks throughout the country leading to our National Guard being left in charge of our country’s citizens. Our world as we know it is turned upside down.

I loved this book. It was like a literary roller-coaster. I had so much fun reading and trying to guess what was coming next! My heart raced and I was on the edge of my seat through most of the book. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am a HUGE Jack Emery fan! He is a new favorite character of mine.

I am an even bigger fan of Steve P. Vincent’s writing. It is flawless. He could write how-to on knitting and I am positive that I would be riveted.

5 stars and grab a bottle of Midleton Very Rare! Cheers!
