Loving him couldn’t be worse than losing him. Could it?

Candace Andrews has had enough of pleasing others. In an act of birthday rebellion, she sets out to please herself—by walking into the tattoo parlor owned by her cousin’s ex-boyfriend. All she wants is a little ink, and Brian’s just the guy to give it to her.

As soon as she submits to his masterful hands, though, the forbidden attraction she’s always felt for him resurfaces…and she realizes the devilishly sexy artist could give her so much more.

Sweet, innocent Candace is the last person Brian expected to see again. She’s everything he’s not, and her family despises him. He doesn’t need the hassle, but he needs her, and this time no one is taking her away. Not even those who threaten to make his life a living hell.

Backed into a corner, Candace faces the worst kind of choice. Cave in to those who think Brian is a living nightmare…or hold her ground and risk it all for the one man who rocks her world.

Warning: This book contains explicit sex, naughty language, tattoos aplenty, family drama, a hot rock concert…and a bad boy hero who’s pierced in all the right places.

“But I’d rather look back and regret something I did when I was young and crazy, than look back and regret something I never had the courage to do, and realize it’s too late.”

Humana humana!!!! Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my chin. Woo!

Ok, now that I have THAT under control…

This book was sizzling! Let’s get the discussion of how HOT this book was over with so I can tell you about the rest.  It was off the charts hot and what made it hot was not just the sexy times, but the chemistry between the main characters. The development of their characters was exceptional. So when they were on the page together, it was like my kindle was on fire!

Candice, I think, was a lot like any other girl who has been sheltered by her parents’ well-meaning, albeit smothering, love. She just wants to get away. Be free to be the person her parents don’t know is beneath it all. She wants to do something impulsive. So naturally she thinks, tattoo. Why not? Apparently Brian’s needle revealed a lot more than the aching need for a permanent, inky mark. And frankly, I can’t really blame her.

I liked Candice. I understood where she was coming from and had no issues with her choices. She was scared and confused. Her life went from hanging in the slow lane to screaming down the fast lane on the back of a Ducati. I think she handled it better than most. And when it came to standing up to her parents, I thought she was really brave. I would have been scared to death to do what she did. (OK, at the end I wanted to throat-punch her a little, but other than that…)

Brian was the best! Used to being the black sheep, Brian maintained his integrity. He was a good man. In fact, in a roundabout way, he was classy. He kept his head down and did his work. He was a businessman and an artist. And of course… a lover. Oh my…. Oh, oh, oh my…. I won’t even give away the fun parts of Brian. (pun intended.) Brian has plenty of his own issues and he was always there for Candice. He is one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends.

“Who needs a fairytale? In the end, I only want to be happy with a guy I love, and who loves me just as much. That’s all I need.”

Overall this was a fun, sexy and intense story. A quick and steamy read. Do yourself a favor and meet Brian.

4.5 take-a- ride-in- Brian’s-truck-stars and pair it with an ice-cold St. Pauli Girl.
