Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.

“ I want this,” he said softly, leaning over and kissing me between the shoulder blades. “I need to own you. All of you. Make you scream and realize that you belong to me and I belong to you and nothing else matters. I can’t let you slip away from me, babe.”

When we are introduced to Marie, she is living with her brother after leaving her abusive husband. She is going about her business when she quickly learns that her brother is somehow tied through his work with a group of bikers. The Reapers MC, more specifically.

She is initially approached by Horse, and huge (and incredibly attractive,) biker. He is big, tough, crude and rude and she cannot look away. They have great chemistry off the bat. I love the back and forth between these two. She surprises him with her moxy and he surprises her with is sweet side. Their first obstacle in their relationship is a big one. She doesn’t understand his world and when she is invited into it, she hurts and insults him while in the process of rejecting him.

“I want you to be my old lady, babe. That’s all I have to offer. I’m a Reaper, and this is my world. You wear my patch, you be my woman and I’ll be your man. We take the good times together and fight through the bad times. No games. That’s everything I’ve got and it’s all yours if you’ll take it.”

This is where things get interesting. So Jeff, Marie’s brother, pulls some stupid move and gets himself in a lot of trouble with the MC> Meanwhile. Horse is still angry, pining over Marie. The MC’s proposal? Take Marie as collateral… sorta. I don’t want to reveal too much. It’s too damn good.

So what did I love?

This is not a romance. It’s an MC romance. Probably the best one I have read. Why, you may ask? Because it seems that Ms. Wylde actually knows what she is talking about. This is so realistic. She has obviously spent time in the MC culture and I appreciate this. This is not info she gained watching a TV show.

Horse is real, but ever so lovable. He is rough around the edges, for sure, but a good man. He is smart, considerate, and so damn HOT!!!

“Someday,” he whispered softly in my ear. “I don’t want to hurt you. Not until you’re ready for me… But someday I’m going to own all of you, Marie. You’re all mine, babe. Knew it the first time I saw you. Couldn’t give you up if I tried.”

Like I said above, Marie has got moxy! I really connected with her character and the way she carried herself. I can only imagine being thrown into a completely different world than the one I know and not having a choice about it. She is willful from the beginning and smart with most of her choices. And the end? Oh the end! I won’t give it away, but you can’t help but love her after she pulls that move!

“I’ll be your old lady and I’ll wear your patch. But if you ever let some bitch shove her tits in your face again, I’ll shoot you myself.”

This the first book in the series and I can already tell that it will quickly become a favorite for me. The stories of the couples are great, but the way the MC is connected makes me just as interested in MC’s survival as the individual couple’s.

I give this book 4 stars and recommend cold beer… Cuz seriously, Horse is HOT!
