Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck.

He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.

Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.

And their deaths.

For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.

This is the fifth book in the King Series and it's meant to be read after Soulless.

This is easily one of the most anticipated reads of the year. Fans of this series have been waiting for Preppy to get his own story ever since we met him in King. He’s funny, he’s scary, and he is ridiculously hot. Charming and psychopath are not usually two things that go together, but Frazier meshes them in Preppy to be his best attributes.

I knew I loved Preppy from the previous books, but I admit I was curious how it was going to be with him as the leading man. Would his character find redemption for his wrong doings or would we get a watered down version of him so that he would be a little less scary? Neither of these happened. Preppy is unapologetically who he is from start to finish. Frazier was able to let him stay true to character, and make you love him even more. He is extremely sexy, and extremely scary at the same time, which just makes him even more sexy. Part of the intrigue is that you can never quite be sure if he’s going to kill you or nail you to the wall with his rock hard body.

I also loved Dre,( although I was insanely jealous of her.)  She was the perfect match for Preppy. Both of their stories are so sad, but they are told in a way to give us understanding, not to make us feel sorry for them. I loved getting into the mind of Samuel Clearwater and knowing what exactly made him tick. I also loved getting the chance to see Bear and King again.

My only complaint is that it ended too soon and I don’t know when we will get more. This series has become one of my favorites by far. It’s raw and dirty and pushes the boundaries of what can be considered romance. These stories are not filled with hearts and flowers, but they are easily some of the hottest books I’ve ever read.

5 stars and lots of Irish Pancake shots! Enjoy!

Make the Drink:

unnamedIngredients

IN ONE SHOT GLASS:
2 count Jameson Whiskey
1 count ButterShots Schnapps
IN A SECOND SHOT GLASS:
1 shot Orange Juice

Directions

Take one shot of half Irish Whiskey and splash ButterShots Schnapps, followed immediately by one shot of pure orange juice.

If you want… follow with some crispy bacon. Between the butterscotch, the juice, and the bacon, the taste is similar to dragging your bacon through the syrup from your pancakes.

You’ll have yourself an Irish Breakfast Shot you won’t soon forget.
