Charmingly murderous anti-hero Joe Goldberg continues his twisted quest for the perfect love in this thrilling follow-up to the “deeply dark yet mesmerizing” You. When Joe follows the woman he wants to marry to the West Coast, he never imagines that his obsession will lead him to such tragedy.

“Los Angeles is full of places to hide a body, but when the person inside the body doesn’t love you, it’s not an easy thing, turning that breathing person into a dead one.”

I literally squealed when I received my arc for this book. I was completely, sickly captivated by Joe when I read You and I couldn’t wait to get back inside his sick, twisted mind. It is a rare thing when you can say that you have the pleasure of reading a new author that will be a household name. Caroline Kepnes will be sitting on bookshelves next to Stephen King and Gillian Flynn. Her writing style is superbly unique and absolutely fascinating. It is a rare and wonderful thing when you can empathize and root for the villain in a story.

We know from You that Joe has a warped view of things, however, the depths of his depravity reach a whole new level in Hidden Bodies. Joe leaves his familiar New York setting to go to L.A. His new surroundings make for a perfect setting for his inner monologue. As much as I felt like I knew Joe and what he would do, the author has an amazing way of keeping you on your toes with a plot twist you will never see coming in a million years. My only hope is that this is not the last we see of Joe. He is the defining psychopath for this generation. He is right up there with Norman Bates, Hannibal Lector and Patrick Bateman. The thought of him will make you shiver and smile all at the same time.

“So I Lyfted to Home Depot where I bought random stuff, rope and duct tape, plastic bags, cable ties, and plastic gloves. The girl at the register winked and said she’s also a big fan of “Fifty Shades” and this is what has become of our society.
Fucking and killing are the same damn thing.”

This book absolutely deserves to be at the top of your TBR (To Be Read) list. It will keep you up all night racing to the end and then you will be unable to sleep knowing that you were rooting for the bad guy the whole time.

5 sick twisted stars and a bottle of Jameson! Enjoy!
