First, I had to remember how to breathe. Then, I had to learn how to survive. Two years, three months and sixteen days had passed since I was the Rowe Stanton from before, since tragedy stole my youth and my heart went along with it.

When I left for college, I put a thousand miles between my future and my past. I’d made a choice—I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn’t know how.

And then I met Nate Preeter.

An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn’t supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn’t want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn’t.

My heart was dead, and I was never supposed to belong to anyone. But Nate Preeter had me feeling, and he made me want to be his. He showed me everything I was missing.

And then he showed me how to fall.

*This is a standalone in a three-part series that will focus on different characters. Each book can be read on its own.

“You should make more wishes.”

Let’s discuss the number of times my heart stopped while reading this book, shall we? Or how about the number of times I openly wept? Not liking those options, because we can also cover how many times I laughed out loud or said, “awwwww!” It was definitely that kind of book. And I will scream it from the skies if I have to – Ginger Scott is a go-to author! She is on fire with a fabulous parade of 2014 releases covering some serious and thought-provoking topics.

I don’t want to give anything away, so I won’t offer a recap. What I will tell you is that, my kindle was glued to my hand from beginning to end with this book. And like with all Ginger Scott books, I was completely captivated.

Rowe was a complex and interesting character. As she blossomed throughout the story, I grew to love her more and more. Her personality was fantastic! Rowe and I would definitely be friends in real life! She cracked me up! I loved watching her blossom and fight as the pages turned. She was a little dynamo!

And then there was Nate. Ohhhhh Nate. Look up All American Heartthrob in the dictionary and that’s where you’ll find him. Funny, confident, compassionate and wise beyond his years. Nate was the complete package. He and his brother, Ty, are made of the stuff we girls dream about! Nate was just the medicine Rowe needed. He drew her out and showed her how beautiful normal could be. They had a strong chemistry built on a foundation of friendship. I loved the way he challenged her. And don’t get me started on the pranks! I love that they knew how to laugh at themselves. It made the heaviness of the elephant in the room so much easier to bear. There was no perfection in their relationship and the end of the book damn near broke me.

I must give a shout out to the man who stole the moment on more than one occasion, my man Ty! I was beyond excited when I read that he would have his own book next!!! He had a natural and easy confidence about him that made him instantly attractive.

This was an exceptional book. The kind of book that sticks with you. Haunts you. The writing was flawless and the plot was brilliant. As the story unfolded and pieces of the of Rowe’s life came together I was enthralled. I truly missed Rowe, Nate and Ty when it ended. All I want to know is, what will Ginger Scott give us next???

I have said this before and I will say it again, NO ONE WRITES A FIRST KISS LIKE GINGER SCOTT!!!Holy hell can she make a stolen kiss hotter than another books entire love scene. And if you want romance? True romance? The kind that comes completely from the heart and doesn’t require money or grand gestures? Then read a Ginger Scott book.

I give this book five big bright shining stars! Pair it with Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea and lemonade and enjoy the ride!!!

ARC was generously offered in exchange for an honest review.
