What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
But what didn't happen in Vegas seems to follow them everywhere.

Lola and Oliver like to congratulate themselves on having the good sense to not consummate their drunken Las Vegas wedding. If they’d doubled-down on that mistake, their Just Friends situation might not be half as great as it is now.

... Or so goes the official line.

In reality, Lola’s wanted Oliver since day one—and over time has only fallen harder for his sexy Aussie accent and easygoing ability to take her as she comes. More at home in her studio than in baring herself to people, Lola’s instinctive comfort around Oliver nearly seems too good to be true. So why ruin a good thing?

Even as geek girls fawn over him, Oliver can’t get his mind off what he didn’t do with Lola when he had the chance. He knows what he wants with her now ... and it’s far outside the friend zone. When Lola’s graphic novel starts getting national acclaim—and is then fast-tracked for a major motion picture—Oliver steps up to be there for her whenever she needs him. After all, she’s not the kind of girl who likes all that attention, but maybe she’s the kind who’ll eventually like him.

Sometimes seeing what’s right in front of us takes a great leap of faith. And sometimes a dark wild night in Vegas isn’t just the end of a day, but the beginning of a bright new life...

We finally get to read Lola and Olivers story in this installment of the Wild Seasons series. I have to admit that I was not overly enthusiastic about this couple, however as soon as I started I found myself quickly sucked in just as I had been with the rest of the series. Before I knew it I was half way in and then suddenly it was over.

“As soon as we open our hearts up to love, we show the universe the easiest way to break them in half.”

I really loved Oliver form the very beginning. He was patient and kind with Lola when most men would’ve easily moved on to something or someone else. (It also doesn’t hurt that he’s a tall, hot Australian, with a killer smile and a sexy accent.)  He valued their friendship and even though he wanted more with Lola, her happiness was more important to him than his own. I loved that they had such a solid foundation of friendship and respect before they became romantically involved. The tension and buildup was really fantastic and to me made it all the better when they both did decide to get involved. I like a slow burn that eventually catches fire. Lola could be a bit hard to understand, and yes there were times that I wanted to shake her and tell her to get it together, but she was actually quite believable and relatable at times.  I could relate with her second guessing herself and over analyzing things. I hated how she chose to deal with things at one point when everything became too overwhelming for her, but it was her story and it stayed true to her character.

“She smiles at me. “You’re the biggest geek I’ve ever known.” When she says it, I hear pride in her voice. To Lola, this is the ultimate praise.”

While these two may have been super nerds, the sex scenes were super hot as with any Christina Lauren book. I think that the buildup really added a lot to the heat and intensity. Also the fact that they had such a solid friendship, made the act that much more intimate. While this may not have been my favorite in the series, (Ansel forever!) I did find it very entertaining and I can’t wait to read the next one!

4 stars and a few cold ones! Enjoy!
