Pixie and Levi haven't spoken in nearly a year when they find themselves working―and living―at the same inn in the middle of nowhere. Once upon a time, they were childhood friends. But that was before everything went to hell. And now things are... awkward.

All they want to do is avoid each other, and their past, for as long as possible. But now that they're forced to share a bathroom, and therefore a shower, keeping their distance from one another becomes less difficult than keeping their hands off each other. Welcome to the hallway of awkward tension and sexual frustration, folks. Get comfy. It’s going to be a long summer.

“Because I’m yours, even if you don’t want me”

Let me just start off by saying that I had to read this whole book in one sitting. Not like someone forced me to, but I physically could not put it down. Levi and Pixie were friends their whole lives. Maybe on their way to being more than friends. Honestly Levi was everything to her. Then everything changed in one instant. They haven’t seen nor spoken to each other in almost a year, and now suddenly they find themselves living and working in the same place. Unable to escape each other, they will be forced to deal with all the things that ruined them.

This book was so wrought with pain and sexual tension I could barely stand it. Ms. Fine makes you wait throughout most of the book to find out what could have possibly ruined things for these two people who obviously want each other so desperately. Even when we learn the cause, there is still much to be revealed, such as how each of them has really been feeling and why they can’t just get it together. I literally wanted to jump into the pages and shake them. There are some pretty intense topics dealt with in this book. My heart was aching for both of them and my stomach was literally in knots.

This book was a great example of how the buildup to something can be more intense than the actual event. The author does an amazing job of building tension (sexual and otherwise) without making you feel frustrated and annoyed. While you are thinking geez why can’t they both stop being so stubborn and stupid, everything makes sense in the end when the things they’ve been holding back are revealed. I would recommend picking something that is your go to drink for this book. Marshmallow vodka and diet for me!

I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

4.5 stars and marshmallow vodka and diet (my personal favorite) Enjoy!
