Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon’s moved to New York City and is looking for excitement and passion without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night’s fun. But the manner—and speed—with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger.

The whole city knows that Max Stella loves women, not that he’s ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it’s not until Sara—and the wild photos she lets him take of her—that he starts wondering if there’s someone for him outside of the bedroom.

Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.

“You give good innuendo.”

The Beautiful Bastard series is nothing but fun! It’s dirty and wrong and I like it. More than that, it is clever. The minds that make Christina Lauren are wicked and I want to party with these girls.

On to the story. Max is a swoon-worthy bad boy who has the uncanny ability to understand Sara’s wants and give her exactly what she needs. He is hot, sexy and smart. He is the man we all dream of. A successful Alpha with so much charisma he won’t be denied. He’s perfect. You will love him. So we will move on to Sara.

Sara has been screwed over. We learn of this in Beautiful Bastard. Do you remember her? She was Chloe’s friend with the asshole husband. SO, Sara gets away and decides to do the one thing she has never done before (OK, LOTS of things fall under this simple statement,) let loose! After a lifetime of always doing what others expected of her, she goes out and acts like a normal, healthy, single woman and finally lets her hair down. Bitten by the pleasure bug, she starts testing her limits. Enter Max.

Together they begin a succession of dirty romps throughout the city. Doing this requires a level of trust that leads them to deepen their relationship before even they realize it.

“Do you think we’re really intimate?”
“Do
you?”
She nodded. “When did that happen?”
“When has it been anything other than intimate? You just wanted to ignore it.”

Even better than Beautiful Bastard, Beautiful Stranger has the banter, wit and humor that BB offers, but the characters are more developed as is their story. This is a fun series. Bottom line. I laugh and swoon and occasionally need a cold shower. The characters are loveable and the sex is over the top. The storyline always offer an intelligent and interesting depth.

4.5 stars for Max’s sexy ass and serve it up with a Macallan’s.
