Losing has never been easy for a Maddox, but death always wins.

Eleven years to the day after eloping in Vegas with Abby, Special Agent Travis Maddox delivers his own brand of vigilante justice to mob boss Benny Carlisi. Vegas's oldest and most violent crime family is now preparing for vengeance, and the entire Maddox family is a target.

The secret Thomas and Travis have kept for a decade will be revealed to the rest of the family, and for the first time the Maddoxes will be at odds. While none of them are strangers to loss, the family has grown, and the risk is higher than ever. With brothers against brothers and wives taking sides, each member will make a choice—let the fear tear them apart, or make them stronger.

I knew before I started this book that it was gonna hurt. If you’ve read the entire Maddox brothers series like I have, surely you have formed an attachment to all of these characters. From the moment we met Travis years ago, we have been in love with all of these boys. We’ve also been in love with all of their loves. There is no character in this series that is expendable.

With that being said, I will definitely not be giving any spoilers. What I will say is that I absolutely loved this book. We get to see into every single one of the brothers lives. To have them all come together for more than just a chapter or a small glimpse was absolutely amazing. It really reminded me that it’s impossible to have a favorite Maddox. It also reminded me why I loved this series so much. Their personalities,  while similar in some ways, are really unique. The one thing they all have in common is that they love hard and will doing anything to protect their family. And I do mean anything.

This story is very layered, and secrets are revealed slowly and at just the right time. My heart was racing many times as things got more intense right up to the end. The last chapter absolutely murdered my heart. I sobbed through the whole thing. Seriously this one chapter is the best thing I have ever read by this author. As hard as it was for me to read, I cannot imagine how hard it was for her to write. You can literally feel her bleeding her soul out onto those pages.

This is an absolute must read for any fan of this series. 5 stars and many, many shots of vodka! Enjoy!
